Hey foodie! 👋🌿
There’s been a really nice feeling around the farms lately. Cooler mornings, fresh seasonal produce rolling in, and the kind of food coming in that makes you want to cook something warm and nourishing 💛
We’ve got some extra exciting little updates to share this week too… including a new biodynamic milk range and some very welcome news on the lamb front 👀
Now, let’s get into it!
🌿 FROM THE FARMS 🌿
🌸 Rhubarb – Mt View Farm, Mt Tamborine
Fresh, certified organic rhubarb from Mt Tamborine!
Perfect for stewing and spooning over yoghurt, oats or chia pudding for a cosy winter breakfast situation 😏 Rhubarb has been used for centuries in traditional medicine and is naturally rich in fibre, calcium, potassium and magnesium.
(Just a reminder, though - the leaves are toxic, so stick to the stems only 👀)
🍎 Organic Pink Lady Apples – R&R Smith Organic Tasmanian Apples
These beauties come from Tasmania, where the cooler climate means apples get a much longer growing season. R&R Smith have been growing apples since 1888 😱, and have been certified organic since 1998.
Sweet, crisp, juicy, and properly flavourful - these are the kind of apples that remind you of childhood.
And when you’re finished, don’t forget to compost the box 🌱
🫛 Organic Snow Peas – Various Local Farmers
Crunchy little green gems.
Perfect tossed through salads, eaten straight from the fridge, or lightly fried with broccoli, zucchini and kale for an easy midweek dinner 👌
We’re really excited to now be offering Demeter Biodynamic milk 💛
Demeter farms are known for going beyond standard organic practices, with a huge focus on soil health, sustainability, and working in harmony with nature.
This milk comes from a co-op of biodynamic family farms in Victoria, where Jersey, Friesian and Australian Illawarra cows pasture-graze naturally - without synthetic chemicals, artificial fertilisers or GMOs.
We currently have two varieties available:
🥛Unhomogenised Full Cream Milk
🥛Homogenised Full Cream Milk
Demeter Biodynamic milk will also now be featured in our Ultimate Farm Boxes.
And don’t worry, we’ll absolutely still be stocking Mungalli Dairy too!
🐑 A LITTLE LAMB UPDATE
More good news… we’re expecting to welcome a new lamb producer in the first week of June 👏
As always, we’ve taken our time finding someone whose farming practices truly align with our values of caring for the land, caring for the animals, and producing food the right way.
We can’t wait to share more with you soon.
That’s all for this week 🌱
Hope you enjoy all the seasonal goodness coming through right now.
May your fridge be full, your meals comforting, and your weekend extra cosy.
