Farmacy Weekly Report 2026 Week #22

Baskets of Sugar Peas

Hey foodie! 👋

It’s been really nice seeing a bit of rain over the last couple of weeks. 💛 The farms have been really needing it… Things have been incredibly dry since around January, so even just a couple of days of decent rain makes a big difference for our farmers.

Now the sun’s back out, the mornings and evenings are getting cooler, and we’re very ready for all the winter produce that comes with it 👀 Bring on the cosy meals, soups, roasts and slower cooking season.

Now, onto the food...

🌿 FROM THE FARMS 🌿

🫛 Organic Sugar Snap Peas – The Beach Farm, Noosa

Did you know that just 100g of sugar snap peas contains 100% of your daily need for Vitamin C? Who’d a thunk it?! They’re also a great source of fibre and protein.

Snack on these crunchy little gems straight from the fridge, toss them into salads, or lightly fry them with broccoli, zucchini and kale for a healthy side.

These beauties are grown by Mitch and Nina Bray from The Beach Farm in Noosa. Over the last decade, they’ve gone all in on organic and biodynamic farming with one simple goal - growing real food and keeping it close to home.

🍍 Organic Pineapples – Mangoes R Us

These have us a little excited 👀

Sweet, juicy Queensland pineapples grown using organic farming methods - organic pineapples are actually surprisingly hard to come by.

We’ve currently got medium-sized beauties available, perfect for smoothies, fruit salads or eating standing over the kitchen bench because you “just wanted one piece” 😅

Keep an eye on your inbox next Tuesday, too. We’ll be diving into the pesticides commonly used on conventional pineapples and why organic ones are extra special.

🐄 ECHO VALLEY UPDATE

You may have noticed the meat supply has been a little irregular lately. With the dry conditions, smaller bodies have been coming through the meathouse, something that’s unfortunately largely outside of their control.

Fingers crossed this recent rain gives those new seeds a nice little head start 🤞🌱More on this in the next Good Food News, which you’ll find in your boxes.

As always, we really appreciate your patience while farmers work with what nature throws at them.

🎪 SUSTAINABLE BNE FESTIVAL

This Sunday (24 May), we’re doing something we honestly don’t do very often... we’re leaving the warehouse and heading into the real world 😅

We’ll be exhibiting at the Sustainable BNE Festival!

In 11 years of this business, we haven’t done many events because, truthfully, they’re a LOT of work behind the scenes. But with our new Joy Wholefoods branding, we’re excited to finally put ourselves out there and bring Joy to more people.

If you’re coming along, please stop by and say hello! 👋

And this part is pretty cool... Brisbane City Council is giving away 900 pieces of our fruit for free 🍎✨

📍 Roma Street Parkland

📅 9 am Sunday 24 May 2026

💛 Free entry & family friendly

That’s all for this week 🌱

Hope you’ve found a little inspiration for the week ahead. Here’s to cooler mornings, nourishing meals and a fridge full of good food.
