Farmacy Weekly Report 2026 Week #35

Bake crispy roast broccoli and carrots in a pan.

Hey foodie! 👋

No shiny new products to announce this week. No exotic new vegetable has suddenly appeared from the farms. 😂

But there’s still plenty happening behind the scenes at Joy, so here’s your weekly dose of good food news.

🌿 FROM THE FARMS 🌿

We’re right in the thick of beautiful winter produce at the moment, and sometimes the best news is simply that the good stuff keeps coming.

Broccoli, cauliflower, leafy greens, carrots, pumpkin and citrus are all exactly the kinds of things we want to be eating right now.

One of our favourite things about seasonal eating is that it doesn't need to be complicated. Roast a tray of whatever vegetables you have, add some good protein, drizzle over a simple dressing and dinner is done.

In fact, we've included a ridiculously easy Crispy Roast Broccoli, Pumpkin & Haloumi recipe in this week's Good Food News. Keep an eye out for it in your box!

📦 A LITTLE BEHIND THE SCENES

Something we've been thinking about a lot lately is just how much goes into getting a Joy box from the farm to your doorstep.

Before most people have had their first coffee, we're receiving produce, checking quality, packing boxes, sorting cold goods and getting drivers loaded and out the door.

There are a lot of moving parts, but there's something incredibly satisfying about seeing hundreds of boxes of genuinely good food head out into homes across SEQ each week.

Especially when we know where so much of it came from and the people who grew or made it.

📰THIS WEEK'S GOOD FOOD NEWS:

CAN YOU TRUST YOUR FOOD LABEL?

This week's headline story was inspired by the recent Four Corners Duped: Food Exposed investigation.

It raised some pretty uncomfortable questions about whether what's inside our food always matches what's written on the packet.

We're talking tomatoes, turmeric, eggs, seafood and more.

Our takeaway isn't that we should all become frightened of food. It's that knowing where your food comes from matters.

The shorter the chain between farmer, producer and your kitchen, the easier it is to ask questions and get real answers.

Know your farmer. Know your producer. Read your labels. Ask questions.

You'll find the full story in this week's Good Food News.

🥕 THIS WEEK'S LITTLE CHALLENGE

Before you do your next shop, have a dig around the bottom of your crisper.

Find one thing that needs using up and make dinner around it.

Limp broccoli? Roast it.
Soft tomatoes? Make a sauce.
Sad carrots? Soup.
Half a pumpkin? Tray bake.
Overripe fruit? Smoothie or freezer.

Sometimes the best way to save money on groceries isn't finding something cheaper. It's actually eating everything we've already bought.

Until next week, here's to good food and full hearts. 💚

Thanks for continuing to support local farmers, small producers and our little team at Joy.

Eat happy! 💚
