Farmacy Weekly Report 2026 Week #24

A bunch of Kiwis

Hey foodie! 👏

Holy dooley, it's an exciting week at the farms!

Our growers have harvested so much golden produce this week, we might just start calling them gold diggers 😏

We've got gold kiwis, gold squash, gold shallots... do we need to get a vault?

It's a pretty good reminder of just how abundant this time of year can be in Queensland. While much of the world slows down through winter, our farmers are still pulling some absolute beauties out of the ground. We've also got some exciting new additions to the grocery shelves that we're very happy to introduce.

Let's get into it...

🌿 FROM THE FARMS 🌿

🥝 Organic Gold Kiwi Fruit – Lake Janis Organic Farm

If you like green kiwifruit, you're in for a real treat. Gold kiwis are sweeter, juicier and a little more tropical in flavour, with less of the tang that green varieties are known for.

They're delicious scooped straight from the skin, tossed through fruit salads, blended into smoothies or added to breakfast bowls.

Plus they're packed with vitamin C, fibre and antioxidants 💛

🌕 Organic Gold Squash – Isis River Produce

Fresh, local and certified organic. These little golden beauties are wonderfully versatile and make a delicious addition to soups, roasts and veggie-packed dinners.

They're also a great source of vitamins A and C, making them as nutritious as they are pretty.

🧅 Organic Gold Shallots (French Shallots) – Cafresco Organics

If onions are the workhorse of the kitchen, shallots are their slightly fancier cousin 😏

Sweeter, milder and with a subtle garlicky flavour, gold shallots bring a beautiful depth to sauces, dressings, roasts and slow-cooked meals. Once you start cooking with them, it's hard to go back.

🥬 Organic Radicchio – Cafresco Organics

This vibrant red leafy vegetable might be one of the most underrated things in the crisper drawer. Raw, it's crunchy and pleasantly bitter. Cooked, it softens and develops a beautiful sweetness. Try it in salads, roast it, grill it or sauté it.

🫑 Organic Mini Capsicums – Kalfresh, Lockyer Valley

These colourful little capsicums are sweet, crunchy and perfect for snacking, lunchboxes or tossing through salads. Or you can dehydrate them and turn them into fresh paprika.

They're also loaded with vitamin C and a whole host of other nutrients that your body will thank you for 💛

🛍️ NEW IN STOCK 🛍️

🚜 The Good Farm Shop

This week we're excited to welcome The Good Farm Shop to the Joy family.

Founded by Matilda Brown and Scott Gooding, The Good Farm Shop shares a lot of the same values we do - supporting healthy farming, quality ingredients and real food.

Some of you may recognise Matilda as the daughter of Bryan Brown and Rachel Ward.

In recent years, Rachel transformed the family farm into a regenerative one, a journey documented in Rachel's Farm.

We've brought in a delicious range of ready-made meals, including:

🥧 Chicken & Leek Pie

🍖 Moroccan Lamb

🌶️ Chilli Con Carne

🍝 Beef Ragu

🍮 Sticky Date Pudding

And plenty more.

Perfect for those nights when you want a wholesome meal without starting from scratch.

🥩 Honest Graze

We've also welcomed Honest Graze to the shelves.

Made by hand in small batches in nearby Cobaki, NSW, these snacks are completely seed oil-free and made with real ingredients you can actually recognise. No shortcuts. No weird stuff. Just honest snacks made by good people.

We currently have:

🍗 Sorghum Chicken Bites

🍟 Tallow Fries

🥔 Tallow Potato Chips

Warning - they’re addictive as heck.

Annnnd that’s all, foodies!

We hope you're enjoying all the beautiful seasonal produce coming through at the moment. Here's to a fridge full of colour, a pantry full of good food, and maybe a little gold in your veggie drawer too 💛
